About Us

Ziad is a certified Acupuncturist and certified as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP(UK)) in Internal Medicine, having practised internal Medicine in different settings between 1993 and 2012).

While not currently licensed to practise medicine, for over 10 years, Ziad practiced in Kuwait and the Middle East in several aspects of General Internal Medicine and Primary Healthcare. He has experience initiating and managing Hypertensive, Dyslipidemic, Diabetic and Fundoscopic clinics, as well as experience in Emergency Medicine, with skills including endotracheal intubation, central line insertion, and transvenous temporary pacemaker insertion, among others. Additionally, Ziad was also responsible for providing post-operative care to patients undergoing thoracic and cardiovascular surgery within an Intensive Care Unit. Upon moving to Canada, Ziad aimed to build up a new career in a new setting, and received training in Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine in Halifax, NS Canada.

Ziad’s philosophy in acupuncture is strongly based on the medical skills he has acquired from years of working in the medical field outside Canada. He has deep insight into the needs of his patients, and is passionate about helping people feel better through the application of more natural methods. Ziad has excellent analytical skills, has the ability to work with diverse populations, and maintains a positive and professional approach within his practice. He is determined to succeed as a committed therapist to his patients.

Valerie Ann Fougere is a mother to a beautiful little boy and Master Permanent Makeup Artist. She is a natural born artist with an extensive background in the beauty industry for over 19 years. As a perfectionist by nature, she has such precision and knack for creating the most natural makeup enhancements possible for each one of her clients.

She views every treatment as a piece of art and is truly dedicated to making sure everything is absolutely perfect and tailored to each persons unique bone structure,

Elizabeth began her practice into Cosmetic Tattoo and Beauty Enhancements in 2019. She started out with becoming a Certified Microblading Technician, and has gone on to practice Brow Lamination and our new facial treatments BB Glow. Her prior professional creative experience has made her a perfect fit for permanent makeup artistry. Elizabeth is also a wife, and mother to 3 young boys and a beekeeper. She loves the concept of clean beauty and is proud to be part of the beautiful offerings at HD Beauty by Val.

Hannah Magee is a Professional Dietitian and Nutritionist based in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Hannah earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition with distinction from Mount Saint Vincent University and a Professional Master’s Diploma in Dietetics from Ryerson University. She completed her rigorous dietetic training at one of Toronto’s leading acute-care hospitals and has brought her broad set of skills and knowledge back to the Maritimes. Hannah believes in a balanced approach to nutrition and that all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle. Hannah is passionate about disseminating evidence-based nutrition information and helping individuals discover the joys of eating and living a lifestyle that is healthy for them.”
